Because I needed a place to post pictures of Ziggy.
He enjoys his rat.
He's also picked up some really annoying habits.
Building up trust just for me to betray him when I sign on the new house. Sorry, Ziggy.
He's a lap cat when he's in the mood for it.Got him to the new house. He's doing better than I thought he would."It's my table, I'll do what I want!"
He remains distrustful of the washing machine. He'll inspect the contents of the dryer, though.
I helped run a Secret Santa for a Discord server. Ziggy liked the box of one of the gifts I was given."I'm going to sit here and be noisy until you let me explore the basement!" He did not get to explore the basement. He sometimes likes to lay on the couch, but not often since I don't spend a lot of time up there.
Surprisingly, he has resisted trying to knock the tree overThe trick to getting a cat to use their bed? Put it in a spot they already like to lay in.Even if the spot they like doesn't make sense to you."My desk now!"Enjoying what little sun he's able to get in the house
We've since moved across the state into an apartment. He did not enjoy the drive, but within 30 minutes he decided he owns the place.
We lived in that accursed apartment for almost a year before we finally moved out into another house
It took him a while to find his preferred spots around the house
He still demands his pets and oh boy does he get them
I've finally started 100% remotely! Ziggy's real happy about it, but likes to distract me.
He's got a few places to sit while I work
Though, when I'm done with work for the day, he's quick to follow me to the personal office. Sometimes he even beats me there.
He finds interesting things to do, like staring at the local wild life or napping
However, I really don't appreciate when he manages to sneak out and explore the garage

Camect (camect.com) even managed to catch him exploring when one of the realtors showing the house failed to follow instructions and left the doors open, grumble grumble grumble
We managed to sell the house in a ludicrously short time, but I was recalled to the office. I dislike the thought of signing a lease agreement, so we bought a camper and are living in that instead. Cheaper, no lease, and no debt.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. That end for Ziggy was on 5 June 2024, just short of his 17th birthday. Over the last few years, he had cancer start to take hold and the vet was concerned that a surgery at his age would cause more problems than it would solve.
I had resolved to keep him as comfortable as possible. Near the end of May, he started to eat less and less and eventually got to the point where he refused to eat or drink.
I refused to let him suffer.
Thank you to Strafford Vet Clinic in Strafford, MO who made Ziggy's last day that much more bareable.
